In an incredible showcase of athleticism and cultural exchange, the ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø-IIT CATS Taekwondo club, with their head coach Assistant Professor Johnlenon N. Aliser, took part in the Taekwondo Demonstration Event led by the Chungcheongnam-Do Taekwondo Team from South Korea, held at Iligan City Public Plaza on June 6, 2025.

Before the event, the Chungcheongnam-Do delegation paid a courtesy visit to ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø-IIT. During the visit, Assistant Professor and Director of the Office of Sports Development, Leo N. Santillana, warmly welcomed the guests and presented the university’s dynamic sports development programs. The visit served as an avenue for sharing valuable insights and strengthening international ties through sports.

The main event featured a collaborative performance between the ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø-IIT CATS Taekwondo Club and the Precka Taekwondo Team, along with the visiting Korean athletes. Their synchronized exhibition highlighted technical skills, discipline, artistry, and the unifying spirit of the sport.

Organized by LGU Iligan, through the efforts of the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Office (LEDIP Office), the Taekwondo demonstration aimed to develop cultural understanding, promote sports diplomacy, and enhance community engagement. It also highlighted the power of sports as a bridge for international friendship and mutual respect.

“Since its recent re-formation, our Taekwondo team has actively participated in training and demonstration. Today, we stand proud not as just Taekwondo enthusiasts, but ambassadors of sportsmanship and cultural exchange within and beyond our campus,” Aliser said.

Through such meaningful exchanges, ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø-IIT continues to champion not only athletic excellence but also global camaraderie rooted in shared values and respect.
